6 Steps to Finding New Products or Services by Zama Zincume

In information product marketing it is necessary to be a prolific creator of products. How can one find a product? Can you create a product without knowing what your market wants? Clearly, you’ll be chasing the wind if you create a product for yourself and not for your market. Know what your niche wants.

  • Read all you can find. Be curious like a little child. Don’t ever be cheap or lazy in this area.
  • Attend trade shows and exhibitions in your field. You can learn more in trade shows and exhibitions in what is happening in your field and what is selling. You can also give a twist to an existing new product and develop your own.
  • Be curious while you are visiting other countries and when traveling abroad. You can acquire the rights to sell and distribute a certain product. What is selling in the USA and Japan can sell in South Africa.
  • Read news stories in the business press. Don’t limit yourself to the local business press. Expand your mind by also reading Forbes, Fortune, The Wall Street Journal and Investors Business Daily. Compare your findings to the needs of your prospect in this country.
  • Keep your eyes open for trends in what consumers want in all ages and incomes.
  • Always remember the “acres of diamond” concept. You may have a million rand idea just starring at you. This idea may be in your knowledge, experience, education, interest or current job.

    • You must produce products as fat as a gazelle!

    i have got a sample of a product that i want to market and so far on internet i have not found anything similar and i want help to see in which area i must market this product.Obviously i would want to keep this confidential till it gets mass produced.it is in the area of computers & personal well being while working on computers the whole day long .
