Four Keys To Writing Your Web Copy by Zama Zincume
You can have as many visitors as you like in your site..and don’t get any buyers. This might surprise you. but the key is in your web copy. Your sales letter should reach the heart of your targeted prospective customer. You must be able to reach” the way of thinking” of your prospective customer.
How on earth do you do that? Michael Masterson in one of his letters suggested that you’ve to write your copy as if you were writing to one person you knew as a friend.
To be effective in your copywriting you have to master these five keys to writing your web copy.
1. Research
Writing an effective web copy requires of you to do a thorough market research. What does your market want. What are the issues and problems they want to be solved. Don’t limit yourself in your research. You need to move out from online research to offline research. There you’ve to look for covers of magazines and see what topics are promoted and why. Are these touching the emotions and desires of your target market?
2. Notes from best sales letters
When it comes to web copy writing, don’t reinvent the wheel. Collect all sales letters that sold to your market. None of the copyrighting is really original. You take that concept and insight from different sales letters and for your own thread of argument. Look at the benefits that are in those sales letters and write them down.
3. Products/service Benefits
Having seen a lot of sales letters and the benefits mentioned therein, you’ll have to study your own product and write down the benefits of your product. List all the possible benefits that are in your product.
4. Do interviews
When you are doing interviews, ask them how they felt when they were seeing the product. It is the person who knows the prospect best that will make the most money.
